The fifth year of the charity run through the Bohunice University Campus is organized by the Department of Medical Ethics of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in support of children with Down syndrome and their families. The Living Seminar of Tolerance, Respect and Respect for Others is a sporting event with a virtual entry fee of your choice. The entire amount will be donated to support activities that improve the lives of people with Down syndrome.

The Dies academicus ceremony is associated with the awarding of the Masaryk University Rector's Awards. These awards were presented for outstanding achievements in science and research, sporting achievements, teaching, art and civic activities. 5 employees and 2 students received awards from the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.

The fundraiser for the memorial to the body donors is moving into its next phase. At the end of it, a memorial will be built to honour those who have chosen to donate their bodies for teaching and research purposes. This year, students of the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University will support the fundraising with a series of fundraising events. The first concert featured violin virtuoso Josef Špaček.

The assembly of the academic community of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University was held on Monday, 15 May, so that the only candidate for the post of Dean for the years 2023-2027 could officially present his programme statement. The only candidate for the post of Dean for the next term is the current Dean of the faculty, Martin Repko. The meeting was also attended by the Rector of Masaryk University Martin Bareš.

At the end of April, the re-elected rector of Masaryk University, Martin Bareš, announced changes to two Vice-Rector positions. He appointed the former Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Jana Fialová, as Vice-Rector for Students and External Relations, and after the current AS MU discussion. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Martin Repko, thus entrusted Professor Eva Brichtová with the issue of student affairs, pending discussion at the level of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Medicine.

Every year on 12 May we commemorate International Nurses' Day. At the Faculty of Medicine MU we, of course, cannot forget them!

On Friday, 5th May 2023, the World Hand Hygiene Day event was held at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. The organisers were pleased with the interest in protecting their own and public health through good hand hygiene. They were pleasantly surprised how many people decided to come despite the circumstance of a long weekend and upcoming exams.

One valid proposal for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University was submitted by the deadline for submission of proposals on 2 May 2023 at noon. The only candidate for the tenure from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2027 is Prof. MUDr. Martin Repko, Ph.D.

Jana Fialová, who is ending her term as Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and External Relations at FM MU, has been appointed Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and External Relations since 1st May. The new concept of the structure of the Vice-Rectorial team, including the Vice-Rectorial portfolios, was announced by Rector Martin Bareš, who was elected to a second term as Rector of Masaryk University at the beginning of April.
