Interview: Palliative medicine is about life, but it also introduces medical students to dying
Interview with Associate Professor Jan Maláska about the expansion and importance of teaching palliative care.
The fifth annual Czech DIGI@MED award for authors of innovative digital and mobile solutions in the field of health care. The Roche Czech Republic award was established to support the digitalization of healthcare and innovative ideas in the field of medicine and pharmacy in order to help doctors, healthcare professionals and, above all, patients. This year's award also went to us: Honorable mention for the existing MyWay analytix project.
The Czech DIGI@MED Award is awarded annually by Roche to all authors who have created innovative digital and mobile solutions in the field of health care and optimization of processes in the health care sector in the past year, or who come up with a unique innovation. This year was the fifth edition of this competition. A jury of renowned experts from the fields of medicine, pharmacy, digital technologies, epidemiology, business and marketing evaluated a total of 18 projects in this year's competition.
The spin-off received an honorable mention in the Existing Project category.
The award ceremony took place on 6 December 20223 in the Karolinum in Prague. The event was attended by Erik Lundgren, CEO of Roche and US Ambassador Bijan Sabet.
MyWay Analytix is an innovative eHealth program for mental health mapping. Using expertly designed questioning, graphics and animations, it provides individuals and organisations with an overview of their mental health status. It offers recommendations and interventions to develop skills to improve life satisfaction. The app includes anonymous reports for organisations, enabling targeted mental health support for employees. Users receive feedback on their progress towards optimal mental health in the form of detailed descriptions within a summary report.
MilkyWay be well was founded in 2021 by Martin and Barbara Bořilovi. Both bring a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, where they have spent over a decade in various marketing and sales roles in leading pharmaceutical companies. On behalf of the Institute of Medical Psychology and Psychosomatics, they have contributed to the project: Adam Suchý, Alena Slezáčková, Denisa Denglerová, Mirek Světlák, Monika Lekárová, Zdeňka Barešová. The cooperation from April 2023 brought the first spin-off company to the Faculty of Medicine of MU and the 22nd spin-off company for Masaryk University.

New teaching facilities were unveiled at the Department of Health Sciences. The classrooms, located on the third and fifth floors of the F01B1 building, are designed primarily for education in general nursing, but also in other non-physician healthcare professions.
