At the Dies academicus ceremony, which took place in the Karel Engliš Grand Auditorium on 23rd May 2024, the University honoured distinguished scientists and successful students, including students of the Faculty of Medicine, and one PhD student.

In May, the garden of the Medicinal Plants Centre reopened to the public and the annual exhibition will open there on 13 June. This year the focus will be on garden therapy.

The third meeting of the MU Faculty of Medicine Scientific Council this year took place at the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.

The third annual national conference focused on midwives and midwifery students took place on 17 and 18 May 2024. The motto of this year's conference was "Sharing and caring, for yourself and for her", which offered a rich programme, interesting lectures and practical workshops attended by over 300 professionals from the Czech Republic and abroad.

The lecture "Transgender: Both Sides of the Story" was held at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University, led by PhDr. Adam Suchý. It focused on a comprehensive view of transgender from a clinical-psychological perspective, addressing topics such as transition, detransition, and the distinctions between gender identity and sexual orientation.

The Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University supports research through the Student Scientific Conference, which provides a platform for the presentation of research works of students and young scientists.

A team of scientists from Vienna, Helsinki and Brno Masaryk University has described the evolution of the bristles of marine polychaete worms. The mechanism, which resembles 3D printing, may also find applications in industry in the future.

On Wednesday, 15 May, the first year of the MUNI RUN took place on the Bohunice campus. It was attended not only by MUNI students and employees, but also by public athletes, including children.
