At the premises of the Faculty of Medicine MU, we had the opportunity to welcome the Ambassador of India and his attaché. He was welcomed by representatives of the management and a few Indian students.

With the end of 2021 approaching, the EU Innovative Partnership for Action Against Cancer is also coming to an end. Its main output is an online database of projects, activities and recommendations in various areas of cancer prevention and care, to the development of which the joint workplace of the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses at the Faculty of Medicine of the Masaryk University (IBA FM MU) and the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (IHIS CR) has significantly contributed.

During the year 2021, the internal MU project was implemented in the Simulation Centre. Its aim was to increase the support of online teaching.

From September 2022, the FM MU will expand its offer of doctoral studies with a new study programme Healthcare Simulation that received accreditation in November 2021. It will be taught in both Czech and English. Students then can choose between 15 Czech and 15 English study programmes.

During the reconstruction of the cellars in Staňkova street in Brno, archaeologists of the IAH Brno uncovered a mass grave containing parts of twelve human skeletons. The skeletal remains were examined by a team led by dr. Kateřina Vymazalová from the research group of medical anthropology and clinical anatomy of the Department of Anatomy FM MU.

This autumn, Faculty of Medicine received an international certificate ORPHEUS, which confirms the quality of doctoral studies. The faculty ranks among over 100 prestigious institutions such as Aarhus University, Karolinska Institute, University of Oslo, University of Bern, University of Basel.

The Infomore.cz website succeeded in the international awards for media analysts AMEC Awards. It won the award for Most effective planning, research and evaluation of communication. 

Medical care in the Czech Republic is at a very high level and our medical professionals are among the best in the world. We at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics UH Brno and FM MU are happy to pass on our knowledge and experience where it can help individuals and improve the quality of life in the long term. That is why we have joined the MEDAVAC programme of the Ministry of the Interior.

The Department of Anatomy FM MU hosted a lecture of visiting professor Cecilia Brassett, who participated in the Kick-Off Meeting of the ERASMUS+ project „LEAN in Medical Education: Reaching for Quality Management Tools to Teach Human Anatomy Effectively in a Multicultural and Multilingual Learning Space“ on 9^th and 10^th December 2021. The project focuses on further improving the quality of Anatomy teaching.

Students and graduates of the Faculty of Medicine MU, as well as the general public, took part in the virtual auction of artworks from the da MEDici art competition, which brought a wonderful result of 34,300 CZK. We also created a gorgeous wall calendar from the Faculty of Medicine, MU from selected artworks.
