The first health prevention day for employees and students of FM MU offered consultations from vision to nutrition.
The second meeting of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, MU, this year had a remarkable opening – Dean Martin Repko welcomed Professor Jennifer Ruth Brown from Boston, who was awarded an honorary doctorate from Masaryk University at the faculty’s nomination. Two qualification proceedings were discussed during the meeting.
On March 27, 2025, the second meeting of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, took place in the SIMU building. At the beginning of the session, Dean Repko informed the board members about the recent ceremonial event at Masaryk University, during which honorary scientific degrees of Doctor honoris causa were awarded to Professor Jennifer Ruth Brown in the field of medical sciences, nominated by the Faculty of Medicine, and to Professor Dirk Gustaaf Inzé in the field of biological sciences, nominated by the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC).
Dean Repko took the opportunity to personally welcome Professor Jennifer Ruth Brown from Boston at the start of the session. Professor Brown specializes in the pathogenesis and treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. She expressed her gratitude for the invitation, briefly introduced her field of expertise and research activities, and concluded by thanking the Faculty of Medicine for their ongoing collaboration.
Following this, Vice-Dean Kala introduced two qualification proceedings:
The Scientific Board of the Faculty of Medicine, MU, recommended the appointment of Associate Professor MVDr. Aleš Hampl, CSc., as a full professor in the field of Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology, and MUDr. Vladimír Kojecký, PhD, as an associate professor in the field of Internal Medicine. Both proposals will be submitted to the Rector of Masaryk University for final approval.
In conclusion, Dean Repko thanked the board members for their participation and announced that the next meeting will take place on April 24, 2025.

On 5 March, a lecture on healthy nutrition and plant-based diet was organized by IFMSA CZ Brno in cooperation with experts from PAN Czech Republic. Participants learned about the importance of good nutrition, practical tips for creating a healthy diet and had the opportunity to taste plant-based dishes.
