Parents of children in whom there is a suspicion of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other neurodevelopmental disorders and who have been detected as part of early screening of ASD, pediatricians will refer to specialists (usually a psychologist, psychiatrist, neurologist, etc.). However, while waiting for the next diagnostic examination, parents and their children can start some form of early intervention, which can significantly improve their children's behavior or their prognosis. Currently, there are not enough lectures for parents on how to proceed with children with suspected neurodevelopmental disorders if they choose applied behavioral analysis (ABA) as an intervention, which is also considered an effective method of intervention confirmed by the latest scientific knowledge. During the years 2016 and 2017, such lectures were organized by the parents themselves (www.csaba.cz, section Invitations), then later by the Parents Association for Children with Autism. The aim of the project is to follow up on parenting seminars and offer parents who have not had the opportunity to attend previous runs of lectures for parents the opportunity to learn the basics of practical use of ABA for parents who suspect ASD in their child only recently. Cooperation with the Parents for Children with Autism Association, which currently has contacts with many dozens of parents who participated in the original seminars, will be used again. The project also aims to create practical ABA videos that lead to the strengthening of the practical aspect of education in lectures acquainting participants with behavioral approaches with a focus on coping with problem behavior and practicing new skills.
