The disorders of the cerebral circulation are the main cause of a sec. brain damage in patients after severe head injury. Evaluation of brain perfusion should contribute to clarification of the prognosis of these patients and help to racional. the treat. The posttraumatic brain perfusion, evaluated on SPECT (single photon emission tomography), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and a jugual oxymetry will make the intensive care for these patients more effective.
