The First Research Groups at MF MU Set Up by the Department of Biology
The emergence of research groups happened as a result of new steps supporting the development and the role of science at the Faculty of Medicine MU formed under Directive 4/2020 of the MF MU of 8th June 2020 defined as Research Groups at the MF MU.
The first department, which officially set up research groups, is the Department of Biology MF MU. Besides standard research groups, there was set up a junior and a joint research group which connects the Faculty of Medicine and CEITEC MU. Within the department following research groups can be found:

- Pavel Krejčí Research Group – Cell Signaling
- Vladimír Rotrekl Research Group – Embryonic and Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell
- Nicola Silva Research Group – Meiotic DNA repair and Genome Stability
- David Šmajs Research Group – Bacterial Genetics and Genomics
- Stjepan Uldrijan Research Group – Cancer Biology
Junior Research Group:
- Michaela Bosáková Research Group – Cilia and signalling

- Ondřej Slabý Research Group – Non-coding RNAs
