Exhibition of medicinal herbs in the Medicinal Herbs Centre of the FM MU

Visit the 59th annual exhibition of medicinal herbs, including the accompanying exhibition "Grains known and unknown" in the botanical garden of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. The exhibition is held from 17th June to 4th July from 9 am to 6 pm.

On an area of ​​almost 1 ha, you can take a look at almost 900 species and varieties of medicinal, aromatic, spicy, toning and toxic herbs, both domestic and exotic. It is the largest living collection of medicinal herbs in the Czech Republic. Moreover, the collection of plants from the Papaveraceae family is unique in the world. Visitors can also look forward to the accompanying exhibition "Grains known and unknown", where they can learn about the lesser-known aspects of commonly grown cereal grains and non-traditional cereal grains. This year, tasting of herbal infusions will be taking place throughout the exhibition as a bonus.

The botanical garden maintains a gene pool of medicinal herbs and cultivates plant material for the education of medics and research works of scientists. It is an attractive environment for practical lessons of students at all levels of schooling and for educating the public.

Outside of the period the exhibition takes place, you can visit the garden from May to September on weekdays from 8 am to 3 pm, apart from Wednesdays, when the visiting hours are extended until 6 pm. Entrance fee is voluntary.
