Children’s group for children of employees of MF MU opening in September
From September, there will be opened a new children’s group for children of employees MF MU aged between 18 and 36 months situated in a walking distance from MU campus Bohunice. This activity was organized within the preparation process for prestigious HR Award presentation.
Employees of FoM MU and of other campus departments can use the opportunity to place their children 18-36 months old in the new children’s group from September 2020. The operation of this children’s group is significantly supported by the subsidy of the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports and for that reason, school fees are very reasonable. There is a possibility to choose regular attendance for 6 or 8 hours during any working day or to choose occasional one-time babysitting. This action represents a new benefit for faculty employees.
The children’s group will be located in a walking distance ca. 1 km from Kampus at the address Rybnická 48 near the trolley bus station. The big advantage is the placement nearby MU campus as well as the comfortable parking directly in front of the kindergarten’s building. The children’s group is organized by Elánek, the network of children’s groups and kindergartens.
At the moment, children can be enrolled by using a registration form which has been attached in the received email together with more detailed information.
"This age group of children was preferred based on information learnt at the meetings realized at each department of MF. We would like to support our scientific workers and their life roles as parents who couple times a week, need to free their hands due to their scientific work in laboratories or due to their teaching duties. It is one of the next initiatives which has been created within trying to obtain the prestigious HR Award," says Mgr. Petra Voráčková, MBA, the manager of HR Award at the Faculty of Medicine MU.
The capacity of the children’s group is 12 children coming for an eight- hour stay 5 times per week. This should cover the need for daycare for 25 up to 30 children. It is not expected that most of the parents will use daycare services for all-week attendance.
Since the spring, preschool children of employees MF MU have been able to attend the kindergarten in the campus of the University Hospital Brno.
The management of Masaryk University supported this partnership making with the service provider and the subsidy of the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports for children’s group operation could be used as well. This step enabled to coordinate professional and family life and at the same time extended a range of employee benefits within the university internal culture based on shared values which are enshrined in a long-term plan of Masaryk University.
