Ceremonial meeting of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine MU

On 26 September 2024, a festive meeting of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine took place at the International Hotel Brno. On this occasion, Dean Repko thanked the outgoing Head Prof. Vladimír Šrámek, M.D., Ph.D., for his many years of excellent work as Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation at the Faculty of Medicine and the St. Anne's Hospital in Brno.

At the meeting of the Scientific Council of FM MU two procedures for appointment as a professor were discussed:

1. Proposal for appointing Assoc. Prof. Igor Kiss, MD, PhD, MBA, Head of the Department of Complex Oncological Care at LF MU and FN Brno, of a Professor in the field of Oncology. The proposal was presented by the chairman of the evaluation committee, Prof. MUDr. Čestmír Neoral, CSc. The candidate presented a lecture on "Individualization of oncological treatment of colorectal cancer" to the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine of MU members.
2. Proposal for appointment of Assoc. Prof. Ing. Daniel Schwarz, PhD, Associate Professor at the Institute of Simulation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, MU, of a Professor in the field of Neuroscience. The proposal was presented by the chairman of the evaluation committee, Prof. Milan Brázdil, M.D., Ph.D. The candidate presented a lecture on "An interdisciplinary approach to brain image analysis: linking neuroimaging with machine learning algorithms" to the MU Faculty of Medicine Scientific Council members.

The Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine of MU proposed to appoint Assoc. MUDr. Igor Kiss, Ph.D., MBA, as Professor in Oncology and Assoc. Ing. Daniel Schwarz, Ph.D., Professor in Neuroscience. The proposals will be submitted to the Rector of Masaryk University, Prof. MUDr. Martin Bareš, Ph.D.

The next attendance meeting of the MU Faculty of Science will take place on 28 November 2024 at the Simulation centre FM MU, Kamenice 3, Brno.
