Matriculation ceremony - study - graduation. University studies and life at all ten faculties of Masaryk University have been available for a few years now for those for whom graduation is only a distant future. Thanks to MjUNI, they experience eight varied weekends packed with a fun and informative programme. The February term traditionally belonged to the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy. Two hundred and fifty Masaryk Junior University participants could choose from thirteen topics this year, ten of which were provided by our faculty.

They were prepared by experienced teachers, researchers, as well as students - IFMSA with its proven programme Hospital for Teddy Bears, the Student Association of Nutritional Therapists introduced the youngest participants to the importance of proper nutrition, and foreign students from the MIMSA association practiced English and anatomy with the older ones in a fun way.

The youngest ones could, in the form of an escape game, get into the secrets of drug production and their testing in clinical practice or learn how microbes from Antarctica can help us in the fight against diseases. The older ones were convinced by dental hygienists that brushing teeth should not be underestimated, and at the Department of Physiology, or Department of Biophysics Institute, they experienced working with various imaging devices. Not only for girls was a programme introducing the profession of midwife, the participants of MjUNI could try their hand at research at the Department of Histology and Embryology.

And as every year, parents were not left out this year either. They were introduced to the topic of body donation for educational and scientific purposes during the parents' lecture, which was followed by a tour of the Anatomical Museum of Professor Karel Žlábek.

The Masaryk Junior University thus once again showed that learning and knowledge does not have to be just about sitting in desks and theory, but can be playful and interactive. And who knows? Maybe some of this year's participants will return to Masaryk University one day as its real students. As the daughter of the author of this text said, "When I grow up, I want to study at your school!"
