These days, the construction of the Simulation Center of the Medical Faculty of MU is culminating. Jitka Blažková, the project director, has been participating in the construction of this unique building.

A Summer Evening School of TBL Lessons was organized for the students of the Medical Faculty of Masaryk University on 8th -10th September 2020. It already took place in the new building of the Simulation Center of the Medical Faculty of Masaryk University, which at that time was just put to trial use. The program of three three-hour evening lessons was prepared by a team dedicated to the systematic preparation of teaching for a part of a multisemester subject Theoretical Bases of Clinical Medicine. The event was attended by 30 students from the 4th, 5th and 6th year of General Medicine.

The AMEE annual conference, a widely attended international conference focused on medical education, was held in September 2020.

Colleagues from the team of First Aid lecturers, Tereza Prokopová and Tereza Vafková, attended an online course called ESME Online (Essential Skills in Medical Education).

The teaching at SIMU will start in the first week of October with nothing else but first aid. This course has been innovated from the ground up to respond to modern requirements to teaching and to use the huge potential of the Simulation Center of the Medical Faculty of Masaryk University.

From October, students of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University will use the simulation center or training hospital. Future doctors should gain experience before starting practice.

The newly emerging Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University is a workplace where medical students learn clinical skills in a safe environment without the risk of harm to the patient. The simulation center provides the background for the application of a wide range of modern teaching methods of simulation medicine. The introduction of practical examinations in the teaching of medical students (so-called OSCE - Objective Structured Clinical Examination) at LF Mu is, among other things, supported by the SIMUportfolio platform, which is developed by the Webstudio IBA LF MU team. This platform was presented in detail at this year's CSEDU conference, which took place on 2. - 4. May 2020. We do not mention the venue this time, as the event took place completely online.
