Student lectures in the academic year
SIMU teaches bachelor's, master's, and follow-up master's programmes at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University and the master's programme at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Masaryk University. Students at SIMU encounter a full range of simulation medicine methods during their training. These range from low-fidelity computer simulations, so-called virtual patients, through manual skills training simulators, so-called skills training, to advanced patient simulators.
A wide range of sophisticated scenarios for high-fidelity simulations in combination with the realistic environment of the simulation centre allows to practice soft skills (communication with the patient, colleagues, teamwork or the process of diagnosis and treatment). In SIMU, theoretical teaching also takes a non-traditional form. The lecturers use collaborative learning methods, where students learn through mutual discussion or simulated events. Instead of lecturing, the lecturer becomes a discussion partner, where critical thinking and decision-making skills are developed together.
