From September 2022, the Faculty of Medicine has expanded its offer of doctoral studies with a new study programme in Healthcare Simulation, which received accreditation in November 2021. The aim of the programme is to train independent researchers and academics in the newly emerging field of medical education.
The Healthcare Simulation programme combines many medical specializations in modern methods of medical education. Interdisciplinary cooperation is essential for Healthcare Simulation not only in the most well-known, so-called high-fidelity simulations but also in the sharing of theoretical, practical, and scientific knowledge among academics, not only across the Czech Republic but also worldwide.
The collaboration of academics across many disciplines benefits from the development of knowledge and brings wide scientific potential in unexplored areas of simulation medicine. A key characteristic of the Healthcare simulation programme is the support of such interdisciplinary cooperation.
The team of the Institute of Simulation Medicine covers the following research topics, in which doctoral students are also trained:
The connecting elements between the individual teams are shared technologies, methodological support, professional seminars, annual Ph.D. students conference, and their mutual cooperation. Students are motivated by the high professional quality of research in a competitive but open environment.
