On 18 October 2021, the 2^nd workshop of Adult Learning and Basic Course of Debriefing was held in SIMU, led by MUDr. Jana Djakow, Ph.D. and MUDr. Tereza Vafková from the Department of Simulation Medicine, FM MU.

The Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University won one of the special prizes in the Building of the Year 2021 contest, the main organizer of which is the Architecture and Building Foundation and within the Building of South Moravian Region contest, which is announced by Association of Building Entrepreneurs, received a first place in the category of Civic amenity buildings.

A two-day course on Critical Care Simulation was held as a part of a specialisation training of doctors. A team of lecturers from the Department of Paediatric Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (Brno University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University) and Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine (Brno University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University) prepared high-fidelity simulations for doctors enrolled in the training programme in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.

On Monday, 20th September, the world-renowned plastic surgeon Bohdan Pomahač visited the new Simulation Centre for education of future doctors and the premises of the University Campus in Brno-Bohunice. He presented a lecture titled “Until the Last Stitch” at the grounds of Faculty of Medicine. Professor Pomahač visited Brno on the occasion of the II. Visegrad Plastic Surgery Congress.

With the beginning of the academic year 2021/2022, teaching of the Nursing course was newly started in SIMU for the students of General Medicine and Dentistry study programmes, although with a slight difference in the hours of lessons and the composition of the course.

Throughout last year, over two thousand students of General Medicine and Dentistry at the FM MU tried out lessons in the Simulation Centre, or the so-called training hospital, for the first time. The most modern Simulation Centre in Europe celebrated its first birthday in September.

A jury of experts from the Building of the Year contest nominated the building of the Simulation Centre FM MU as one of the 33 best buildings in the whole of Czech Republic. The announcement of the big finale will take place on Monday, 18^th October. You can support SIMU in the public voting now.

The Simulation Centre of Masaryk University is preparing two identical one-day simulation courses on Anaesthesia and Critical Conditions in Children on 14th and 15th October 2021. The participants will get the opportunity to try out in a safe environment the management of critical conditions in children in pre-hospital care, E.R. and operating room during anaesthesia.
