We welcomed the 100th participant of the Critical Condition Simulation course
Michal Návoj, MD, from the Tomáš Bata Regional Hospital in Zlín, graduated from our faculty in 2019 and became the 100th participant of the compulsory pre-testing course Simulation of Critical Conditions at the MU Faculty of Medicine Simulation Centre (SIMU).
In March, you attended a course on Simulation of Critical Conditions at SIMU FM MU. For what reason did you decide to take this compulsory course here?
There were several reasons for attending the course in Brno at SIMU. I work and live in Zlín, so Brno is very accessible for me. Furthermore, I have already had good experience from other courses held at SIMU FM MU with the good quality of teaching and the excellent facilities of the centre.
How did you find out about the courses at SIMU?
Masaryk University is my alma mater, so I am interested in what is going on at the medical faculty, so it is well known to me that both compulsory and optional postgraduate courses for doctors are organized under the Institute of Simulation Medicine.
You have already completed 2 courses at SIMU. You seem to be happy to come back to us. Which course are you going to now?
I have chosen the Basic Pediatric Ultrasound course as my next course, which will be held on May 12, 2023.
How have the courses at SIMU been different, special for you?
The courses at SIMU were exceptional for me because of the great organisation, the wide range of simulations, and the very passionate and friendly organisational team.
What did you take away from the course, apart from the rewards for the 100th participant :)?
I take away experience for my future practice and an interest to participate in teaching and organizing simulation courses in the future.
What message would you give to those who are thinking about attending our courses?
Don't hesitate, it is definitely worth taking a simulation course. During the courses you will also find your weaknesses that you can work on in the future. "SIMU is a place where it is not a sin to make a mistake...but on the contrary, it is a sin not to learn from a mistake."
