Vote in the art contest and participate in the faculty calendar!
This year we are celebrating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University, and therefore we have once again invited supporters of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University to submit artworks related to teaching, studying, and experiences from professional practice. We invited applicants, students and employees of the faculty and we managed to get 45 works of art. We will now select the 13 best of these to create a calendar for 2025 and 2026, which have a total of 105 weeks. Get involved in the voting too!
For the second time, we have successfully combined the talents and efforts of students, alumni, applicants and employees. The first time was in 2021 when the main purpose was to link the announced fundraising for the Body Donor Memorial and at the same time overcome the difficult period of distance learning so that students in particular could showcase their talents. This year's idea is more related to relaxation due to the gradual realization of the Memorial. Also, with the desire to make a mark in the history of the faculty with more than just photos on social media and at the same time to have the faculty in their hearts in a different way than just marks in the IS.
This year, the faculty, like the entire Masaryk University, celebrates its 105th anniversary. That is why we have renewed the idea of an art competition. As part of it, we invited you to submit artwork. We are now in the voting phase, where we are selecting the 13 best works. "We are delighted that with the start of the semester, we had 35 art talents contributing an unexpected 45 pieces. So there is a lot to choose from for the calendar," smiles Ing. Jana Majerová from the Department of Communication and External Relations (OKVV).
Voting runs from 16 October to 28 October 2024 until midnight. After that, a list of works will be drawn up, and gradually we will reveal the works on social media to create a 105-week calendar for 2025-2026. "This will mark a worthy end to the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the university and our faculty. The calendar will be available in the MEDshop from December 2024," says Jana Dvořáková from OKVV.
"We are tense about which works will eventually make up the calendar. We each have our favourites that we have already voted for. So you can vote too," agree both ladies.
How to vote? On the competition website, first, select the works you want to vote for under the Works Overview tab. The selected works will then be displayed and you can determine their final ranking. You can pre-select multiple works, only the top three will be counted in the voting. Thank you for all the votes and for spreading the vote.
