Four-day EPALS block for the first time at SIMU
For the first time ever, a four-day block of EPALS courses was held at the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University on 8–11 September 2022.
A total of 54 health professionals from all around the Czech Republic took part. The course was held under the auspices of the Czech Resuscitation Council. An experienced team of instructors with a rich representation of lecturers from Masaryk University was led by Prof. MUDr. Petr Štourač, Ph.D., MBA, FESAIC.
Participants provided highly positive feedback with an emphasis on the practical impact of the course. The two-day event uses simulations with a moderate level of fidelity and focuses on the initial approach to the critically ill child in line with the 2021 European Resuscitation Council recommendations, which some instructors were personally involved in developing.
The team of lecturers used the knowledge gained at the first ever EPALS Lecturers' Instructors' Day held at SIMU on 4 September 2022.
