Collaborative learning methods using low fidelity simulation: training - part two
From 22.10. - 24.10. the second part of a series of trainings focused on the implementation of the virtual patient program in the Simulation department of the Faculty of Medicine was held at the University Campus in Bohunice.
Compared to the first part, which was focused on the adaptation of selected virtual patients from St George's University partner in London, the continuation of this training series was focused on collaborative learning methods, emphasizing the role of tutor in problem-based learning (PBL) lessons and the role of facilitator and content expert in structured TBL (Team-Based Learning) lessons. A group of less than twenty students composed of current and future teachers of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University had the opportunity to experience the role of students in the example sections of PBL and TBL lessons, led by experienced lecturers from the aforementioned university (Terry Poulton, Dr. Ellou Iskrenko-Poulton and Dr. Luke Woddham). The third part of the series is planned for the spring semester period of the academic year 2019/2020.
