BBMRI.cz - Network of Czech Biobanks

BBMRI.cz (Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure of the Czech Republic) is a large Czech research infrastructure supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. BBMRI.cz provides its services according to the principle of "open access". BBMRI.cz is a part of the BBMRI_EIRC - paneuropean consortium of biological material banks, which brings together 25 countries, offering over 1500 collections of unique clinical samples.

The Czech node has 8 member biobanks and 4 cooperating partners. It has more than 1,800,000 samples from healthy donors (without medical complications) and individuals with various diseases. Biological materials such as tissues, sera, plasma, urine, RNA, primocultures, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, etc., are available.

Students, scientists, doctors, research institutions and commercial entities can request samples or associated data. In the Directory - European online catalogue, you can sort biological material and services provided by individual biobanks according to categories and check their availability.

Samples are provided free of charge to the academic sector (except for transport fees). Commercial applicants are charged a fee for all costs associated with processing and storing the sample in the biobank.
