Description The paper brings a Czech proposal for classification of lithic raw materials for prehistoric chipped artefacts. It is recommended to use also in the English written papers the one-word term silicites as the comprehensive one for all non-clastic siliceous sediments. The definitions of silicite, chert, flint, limnic silicite, jasper etc. are included.
