Description Eotaxin may play an important role in atopic dermatitis as a potent immunomodulatory agent. In a pilot study, three single-nucleotide polymorphisms (-426C-T, -384A-G and 67G-A ) of the eotaxin gene were associated with some phenotypes of the AD patients. Detection of this polymorphisms seems to be a promising way for finding of clinically valid gene biomarkers for the disease.
