Description Conference paper deals with some problems linked with the application of the european international private law rules. Its core is created by the analysis of some articles of the Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the law applicable to contractual obligations (Rome I). In the first part of the paper the author focuses on the choice of law (art. 3), the limits of this choice of law and the determining of the applicable law in the situation of the default of the express or implied choice by the parties. The second part of the conference paper describes the following questions which could influence the uniform application of the european conflict law: the absence of the general part of the european private international law, the uniform classification of terms, the interaction between procedural law and international private law.
