Description The contribution informs about selected results that was gained from anonymous inquiry of Masaryk University students in 2006. Almost 10 000 full-time students from all faculties were addressed, questions were related to their experiences with habit-forming substances and behaviour, attitudes and opinions connected to the drug problems. Appraisal of the situation shows that almost 40 per cent of respondents smoked tobacco during the last 7 days before the study. Practically, 99 from 100 people ever in their life drank alcohol, women rather occasionally, men regularly, almost three quarters of addressed students consumed alcohol during the last 7 days before questioning. Half of respondents drank black coffee during the last 7 days before questionning. Sixteen per cent of all the addressed students consumed marihuana during the last 30 days, more than 10 times marihuana was consumed by 45 per cent of addressed students, men dominated. Almost 1 per cent of respondents consumed hallucinogens during the last 30 days, it were mostly 1 to 3 experiments. Tranquilizers were taken non lege-artis from 1 to 10 times by 40 per cent students ever in their life, fifth of them took it more often than 10 times. Dance drugs were consumed by 0,7 per cent of respondents during the last 30 days (men dominated), gaming machines were used by the 6 per cent of respondents. At least one experience in previous life with 'hard' drugs had less than 5 per cent of respondents, more often men, first contacts with it were established in the period from 15-18 years to early adulthood, half of the respondents was only about 1 to 3 experiments. Approximately 1 respondent of 10 met a drug dealer in academic environment, the contacts with fake and diluted substances are similarly frequent. Numerous substances are easy to obtain for students, especially hemp, hallucinogens and dance drugs. Students take a very tolerant attitude to the experiments with 'soft' drugs.
