| Description | This article is focused on a present legal regulation of the sentence of community service in Austria concerning the adult as well as the juvenile offenders. It refers to the current changes originating in the reform of the criminal procedure law which has come into force of legislation since 1st January 2008, as well as to other important amendments of Criminal Procedure Code and Juvenile Offenders Justice Act. The attention is also fixed to the activities of the NEUSTART institution (which is similar to the Czech Probation and Mediation Service) concerning the sentence of community service. At the conclusion there are presented the advantages of the Austrian legal regulation. |
