| Description | Recent research studies have changed the opinion about nicotine as relatively safe way for smoking cessation of pregnant women. Contemporal results have described nicotine as human neuroteratogen and multiple carcinogen. Thus the antenatal exposure to nicotine both from smoking and from nicotine replacement therapy may cause the long-therm disturbances manifested during childhood and adulthood, as they were confirmed in epidemiologic studies. |
