Description Aim of the study was to find the variability of Borrelia burgdorefi sensu lato strains occuring in locality Brno-Pisárky. A total of 3118 ticks were collected and after cultivation of DFM positive samples we obtained 31 isolates of the following subspecices: 10x Borrelia afzelii, 14x Borrelia garinii, 1x Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto, 2x Borrelia valaisiana, 2x mixed infection B. garinii + B. afzelii, 1x mixed infection B. garinii + Bbss. Sequenation of the part of flagellin gene and 16s rRNA of two unknown samples was made. For flagellin gene 96% congruency with B. valaisiana and B. tanukii was found. For 16s rRNA 98% congruency with B. valaisiana and particularly with B. tanukii, B. afzelii and B. spielmani was found.
