Description Authors present results after Girdlestone resection of the femoral head after infection of the hip in 19 patients with 20 hips. The mena follow up is 3 years and 7 monoths. 16 patients claimed to hae no pain or a sligth pain in the affected hip. 3 patients had severe pain restricting theri daily activity. Younger patients did not want to accept the Girdlestone situation as a definitive outcome.
