| Description | Due to the successful treatment of paediatric oncology patients, the question arises, as to whether the treatment has a long-term effect on blood pressure regulation. The aim of the sutdy was to compare the differences between healthy subjects and paediatric oncology patients, with or without cardiotoxic anthracycline therapy. We followed the long-term decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in subjects after oncological therapy with anthracycline. This could be a result of decreased sympathetic activity, which could be associated with anthracycline. Surprisingly we found changes in SBP and DBP and PIvariability together with unchanged BRS. This is probably due to increased oscillation of vasomotor activity (primarily higher blood pressure variability and unchanged BRS, manifest in higher heart rate variability). |
