Description After graduation, a number of students will often deal with people in their profession, they will represent a role model that should have a positive effect on patients, pupils and clients. However, previous investigations have shown that there is a strong discrepancy between expectations and the real situation. Although university students have sufficient knowledge about the issue of pathological addictions, in contrast to them, they often behave in a high-risk way. Preventive action on university students is also difficult due to the already set values and attitudes. After 2000, three larger studies were conducted at Masaryk University (MU), which described substance and non-substance addictive behavior and preventive activities among full-time students. Among the so-called legal drugs, tobacco products and alcoholic beverages dominated, followed by black coffee. Of the illegal substances, marijuana, hallucinogenic drugs, ecstasy, sedatives without a prescription were used more often, for typical "hard" drugs (opioids, cocaine, meth) the level of experience and current use did not exceed the population background. The activity of drug dealers has been recorded on campus. Men's attitudes towards the consumption of addictive substances were more risky than women's. In the case of potentially risky behavior (behavioral addiction), it was overuse of modern information and communication technologies (internet, computer, mobile phone, social networks), gambling and betting. Students encountered addiction prevention mainly at the Faculty of Education, Medicine and Natural Sciences and at the Faculty of Informatics. Monologue lectures were often used for preventive action, there was a lack of feedback and active involvement of students in prevention projects, as well as the participation of external experts or visits to specialist workplaces in the field of addiction. Prevention was mainly focused on legal substances, there was a lack of continuity and systematicity. Complex programs running at humanities-oriented faculties have rarely been recorded. After a break of more than ten years, the investigative team decided to repeat a similarly focused investigation and address all full-time students from 10 MU faculties. The project is designed as a quantitative and anonymous questionnaire survey. The snowball method will be used to recruit the sample, information about the research will be published in printed and electronic media used by MU. Students can voluntarily participate in the study, thus contributing to finding out what their opinions, attitudes and needs are, what their potentially risky behavior patterns are. According to the results of current research, the drug scene in the Czech Republic is changing, which needs to be responded to when preparing the composition of the questionnaire. Above all, this is a "spillover" of the risky behavior’ gravity center into the area of new technologies, from substances it is necessary to focus on new forms of tobacco and cannabis drugs, alcohol, energy drinks, kratom, synthetic drugs often offered as "collectors' items", use of medicaments without a recommendation an expert. In order to ensure the anonymity of the respondents, the questionnaire will be accessible in electronic form, only data on the faculty, year of study, gender and age of the students will be collected from the identifiers. The principles of research and publication ethics will be observed. The researchers expect that the MU will obtain a unique package of data that will be comparable to previous investigations. The outputs will make it clear what types of potentially risky behavior occur among respondents, what their opinions, attitudes and needs are in the area of preventive action, counseling and therapy.
