Description | Secondary symptoms of disability represent a diverse group of difficulties which are due to the existence of a primary disease or disability. These difficulties may cause further deterioration of health and quality of life in the risk group of persons with disabilities. Although it is possible according to experts to effectively prevent these symptoms, they are still given little attention. The paper presents the conclusions of an overview study on secondary conditions of disability obtained from an analysis of foreign research papers reailzed in this area between 1984 and 2018. The conclusions of a comparative study of psychosomatic difficulties in 459 primary school pupils in the Czech Republic as initial research in this area is presented as well. The results of comparative analysis are further elaborated in connection with the presence of specific learning disabilities and their relationship to psychosomatic difficulties. |
