Description | Physical education is a traditional course of school education both in our country and abroad. Although the conception of physical education is different in particular countries, the content of the teaching process is often similar. We can ask several questions: To what extent the goals of basic physical education conceptions can be fulfilled? Can physical education significantly influence physical fitness of students? Does physical education contribute to general literacy of students? How does physical education form the student personality? What is the real status and role of physical education in the educational system? The aim of the author is not to answer the above asked questions to the whole extent. The goal of the text is to evoke a discussion, which could help clear and specify real educational goals of physical education. |
