Masaryk University continues to strengthen security measures to help eliminate risks in the event of a threat. Currently, mass emails have begun to be sent out with information about the future early warning system. Students and staff can update a number in internal systems that is in the nature of a crisis contact where a text message will be sent in the event of an emergency or other threat. This early warning system, which can be used to reach selected groups of students and staff, e.g. from each faculty, or the entire university, will be operational during the spring semester.

The Velvet Innovation Meetup, hosted in October at the MU Faculty of Medicine Simulation Centre, attracted over 160 participants. The event, organised by the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC) in collaboration with the faculty, offered an innovative project competition, a tour of advanced technologies at SIMU and rich networking. The winner of the evening was the Spicy Cells project from the Faculty of Science of MU, but other featured projects, including the CREATIC Centre of Excellence, were also of interest.
