We have prepared documents for the new University Gender Equality Plan

In recent months, the Faculty of Medicine has been working on a gender audit to analyse the Faculty's approach to individual processes in terms of ensuring equality of opportunity and planning support activities in this area. The audit also serves as a basis for the development of the Masaryk University Gender Equality Plan 2025-2028.

The audit was conducted in the period from May to September 2024 and consisted of a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the current state of equal opportunities and working conditions at the Faculty, while the measures already implemented were evaluated. The subject of the assessment is the balance and naturalness of gender representation at the Faculty. This is the second audit at FM MU and, as in 2021, the HR Award team was entrusted with its implementation. The audit resulted in proposals for measures not only at the faculty level but also at the university level.

The HR Award team prepared a gender audit at LF MU under the patronage of Vice-Dean Prof. Eva Brichtová, Ph.D., with methodological support from the Rector's Office of Masaryk University. The basis for the statistical data analysis was prepared by FM MU Dean's departments and departments of the MU Rector's Office. Processing of the HR Award questionnaire survey results for the purposes of gender audit was carried out in cooperation with Mgr. Adéla Pazderová. The interim results were discussed with members of the HR Award Working Group of FM MU under the leadership of Mgr. Gabriela Tomaštíková and the HR Award MU Working Group under the leadership of Ing. Jana Nová, PhD., MBA. The measures were approved by the management of FM MU on 30 September 2024.

The audit focused on the following eight thematic areas: organisational culture, working conditions, recruitment and selection, career development, gender representation in management positions, gender-based violence, gender dimensions in research and innovation, and studies and student population.

Faculty management fully recognizes the importance of fostering an ethical, safe and fair environment. Improving conditions at the faculty is key to creating transparent and supportive activities that enable each individual to work and study in an open and respectful environment. In addition, our work in the area of gender equality also brings economic benefits, as it is part of the funding conditions, for example within the Horizon Europe, GAČR or TAČR grant schemes.

We thank all those who have contributed, either by expressing their opinion or by providing expert help.

We look forward to the implementation of the planned activities, would you like to get involved? Contact us.
