After defending his position as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University in May, Martin Repko was appointed to his second term in this role by Rector Martin Bareš. This happened today, 20th September, in the office of the Rector of Masaryk University. It will officially begin on 1st November and will last for four years, until 31st October 2027.
"It is a great honour for me and I see it as a huge commitment. Perhaps it is also the result of long-term cooperation during my first term. I believe that together with the Academic Senate we will once again be able to support the Faculty of Medicine and stabilize it in all its functions," said Martin Repko in May, when he was elected as the only candidate unanimously, with all 31 votes of the members of the Academic Senate.
Martin Repko has served in the faculty's close leadership since 2018, and before becoming Dean in 2019, he served as vice-dean for internationalisation and English studies. In his second term as dean, he would like to maintain the economic stability of the faculty, expand cooperation with other medical institutions and/or acquire new premises for scientific and research activities. The inauguration ceremony is planned for 1st November 2023.
