We are looking for speakers for the MUNI Life Sciences Seminar for the seasons autumn 2022/spring 2023 and we would like to encourage you to nominate someone, who could complement this series of seminars in the field of the so-called "Life Sciences". Life Sciences Seminar Series is a prestigious seminar series at Masaryk University in the interconnected and complementary fields, collectively called "Life Sciences". The seminar series is mainly focused on currently growing fields that combine modern methods of biophysics, computational modeling, imaging, biochemistry, and molecular biology with "more classical" disciplines such as microbiology, cell biology, physiology, genetics, toxicology, developmental and evolutionary biology, and medicine.
Not only could the seminar be a great addition to the cycle and help educate many beginning scientists and professionals, but we also believe that inviting scientists to the seminar can help you to establish new collaborations or bring new ideas for your projects. Currently, we are missing nominations mainly from the fields of medicine, ecology/evolutionary biology, and experimental plant biology which are very attractive for students so do not hesitate to nominate! We would also like to encourage you to nominate female scientists who are underrepresented in our programme.
Who can be a suitable candidate for MUNI Life Sciences Seminar? It can be someone who is:
- Leader of your field
- Somebody who inspired you by a talk at the international meeting
- A person who changes the paradigm by combining various approaches
- A scientist who recently published breakthrough results in your field
- Pioneer of your field
- Somebody you always wanted to meet but was shy to ask
- Respected colleague with whom you consider to collaborate
The seminar series will fully cover accommodation per 2 nights and travel costs including per diems of selected speakers. The seminars take place in Brno. Nominations can be sent until 15th March 2022 to the address: noskova@sci.muni.cz
