The invitation of the Dean of LF MU to become a member of the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) was accepted by leading scientists and representatives of the management of prestigious institutions in Germany, Austria, Poland, France, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Israel and the USA.
The ISAB meeting with the faculty management representatives started three days of interesting discussions, exchange of experiences, sharing of good practices and interesting suggestions.
This was followed by a meeting with the heads of the evaluated departments. These were grouped into clusters of Basic Medicine, Surgical Disciplines, Internal Disciplines, Neurosciences and Oncology for the purpose of internal evaluation. The self-assessment reports of the individual departments provided the basis for an inspiring discussion.
The evaluation of doctoral programmes was then part of the process. The guarantors of the doctoral programmes first met with the ISAB members. Subsequently, the evaluators had the opportunity to discuss the conditions of doctoral studies "behind closed doors" with representatives of doctoral students.
Faculty management and representatives of individual departments and doctoral programmes received immediate and unique feedback from internationally renowned experts. The outcome of the evaluation will be evaluation reports for the faculty as a whole, and for the individual clusters evaluated, with recommendations formulated for further development and strategic management of the institution and individual departments. They should be available by the end of November 2022.
