What experiences make you a great ambassador?
Servus und Hallo! I am Svenja and I am currently in the 4th year of general medicine. Before I came to Brno, I was working as a nurse in Germany. While my work in the hospital, I developed great social skills in dealing with patients, but also in working as a team and taking care of one another. During my studies here, I was also a tutor during the anatomy seminars, as it is important for me to help other students with any questions or concerns. Not only in anatomy but also for generally moving to Brno and starting a life here, I always have an open ear and am happy to help out.

What advice would you give to new students?
Coming to a foreign country to start your life and your studies here might be overwhelming at first. Getting to know so many new people with different exciting cultures in such a short time span, the new city and then this big unknown, the medical studies. Therefore, I would advise you to always keep your motivation and mindset positive, surround yourself with your kind of people and don’t forget to balance your studies with your free time. Only focussing excessively on one of those, won’t make you happy in the long run.

What do you love most about Brno?
Brno is a student city and has just the perfect size, not too big, so you won’t get lost and not too small, that you will always run into the same people. In Brno, especially in the city center, you can find beautiful architecture and gorgeous parks, which make every stroll exciting. What I love the most, are the cute cafes, the nice bars and the abundance of libraries, that you can choose to study in. But the unbeatable aspect is the multicultural student life, because in Brno you will make deep friendships with people from all over the world.
