  • 2024/07/08 – 2024/07/12: Technical University of Munich, Munich, DEU
    • The mobility initiative aimed to exchange teaching practices related to sports nutrition. Students will gain insights into current knowledge in sports nutrition and learn how to apply and integrate this information into sports training and competition through various activities. Key areas of sports nutrition will be emphasized. From a scientific perspective, the mobility primarily focuses on theoretical nutritional principles. It specifically uses examples from different sports to illustrate the nutritional objectives of athletes during training and competition. The teaching methods employed during nutrition lectures will be shared with colleagues at the hosting university. Additionally, study materials, learning outcomes, and course content used in teaching will also be exchanged. Furthermore, there will be discussions about research examples conducted within the faculty of sports studies, specifically related to sports nutrition. Detailed content of the teaching programme: Based on the above objectives and planned activities, teaching will cover these topics: 1) Presentation of Research Activities in PhD colloquium (2 h) 2) Nutrition issues in preparation for competition and training, during exercise and recovery after training and competition. (2 h) 3) Body Composition in Elite Sports (2 h) 4) An overview of current topics in sports nutrition, including the consequences for elite sport. (2 h) Students received evidence-based nutritional strategies specifically tailored for training and competition. These strategies aim to enhance performance and support recovery. By understanding the rationale and evidence behind these selected strategies, students will be equipped to critically evaluate current sports nutrition recommendations. Additionally, the mobility initiative aims not only to share teaching practices but also to collaborate on research and project areas with staff.
  • 2024/04/08 – 2024/04/12: Lithuanian Sports University, Kaunas, LTU
    • Overall objectives of the mobility: To actively participate in the teaching programme of the INTERNATIONAL WEEK in Kaunas as a part of a blended course (BIP) called "BEHAVIOUR CHANGE INNOVATIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC DISEASES" that Masaryk University is collaborating on. The course has two parts, an online part just preceding the intensive week and taking part completely online. The course is provided to students from 6 universities.Following the previous organization of BIP at the Faculty of Sports Studies, this opportunity in Lithuania is important in improving the scientific content of the course developing more courses in this area in the future and promoting the virtual means of mobility at our faculty to students. Personal involvement in running the BIP is of great importance to further strengthen the partnerships among collaborating universities. Detailed content of the teaching programme: The coordinator of the intensive week program - Lithuanian Sports University University, structured the teaching program as a combination of seminar and group work of students with a focus on practical sessions that will be tutored by a team of international teachers. Registered students from partner universities will cooperate in small groups on a given task. The learning schedule is split into five days with morning and afternoon sessions. I actively participated in all parts of that week and led a group work on Sports nutrition topics throughout the week. International collaborative work is the highly ranked outcome for students and teaching staff too. This will be achieved through the online part of the course and will be deepened during the Intensive week. This is a great opportunity to strengthen institutional international cooperation as well as establish new ones with other universities involved in the course.
