The first postgraduate high-fidelity course for paediatricians took place at SIMU this summer
On the holiday Monday, 11 July 2022, the first ever Management of Critical Conditions in Paediatrics course was held at SIMU. Fifteen doctors were guided through the course by a team of six lecturers, namely prof. MUDr. Petr Štourač, PhD., MBA, FESAIC, doc. MUDr. Martina Kosinová, Ph.D., MUDr. Jana Djakow, Ph.D., MUDr. Václav Vafek, MUDr. Bořek Trávníček, MBA, and MUDr. Markéta Nowaková, MBA.
The course focused on simulation of critical conditions in children at the emergency department and within pre-hospital care, intensive care unit and standard ward. In a total of 10 sample simulations, the doctors were able to test and deepen their professional knowledge and technical and non-technical skills necessary for teamwork in a safe environment of the simulation centre. The course also included a separate workshop on intraosseous access.
