New course Otoscopy for pediatricians!
On 13.02. the long-awaited course of otoscopy for pediatricians took place in the premises of SIMU.
The course was created based on the demand from pediatricians who have the possibility to report the otoscopy code to health insurance companies and also because children with earache are among the most frequent patients in the pediatrician's office. The course was held in the afternoon and a total of 8 doctors from different parts of the country attended. The program was divided into a theoretical part in which the participants were introduced to the basics of ear anatomy, clinical context, description of otoscopes and presentation of different types of otoscopes, as well as basic and advanced ear diseases. All presentations were supplemented by very rich visual documentation from the lecturer's archive, the whole course was accompanied by the head of the Department of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology of the Brno University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine in Brno, doc. MUDr. Milan Urík, Ph.D. The main part of the course was practical training in otoscopy, when the participants examined each other with different types of otoscopes under the guidance of the lecturer.
The feedback from the participants was so positive that we are planning dates for further courses.
