Doctor Martina Kosinová is one of the lecturers in the new Simulation Center of the Medical Faculty of MU.
Martina Kosinová graduated from the Medical Faculty of MU eight years ago and three years ago she obtained an attestation in the field of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. In the following year she completed her doctoral studies in the field of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine and Algesiology. Now, two years later, she is in the final stage of her habilitation procedure in the same field. Already during her studies, she joined a group of students and experts who created the teaching portal AKUTNĚ.CZ, where she experienced a different way of teaching than the one common at the faculty. Since the beginning of October, she has been helping to implement it in the new Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University (SIMU), this time as a lecturer. Her story is another part of a miniseries on em.muni.cz about the SIMU project.
This year, 55 students received the Dean’s Award in Czech study programs and the Excellence Award in English study programs across several categories. The awards were presented to the students by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at MU, Martin Repko, Vice-Dean Eva Brichtová, and Vice-Dean Lubomír Křivan.
The Surgical Suturing Project was created as a student initiative to teach future doctors basic surgical techniques. After its demise during the pandemic, a group of students decided to passionately revive and expand the project. Today, they form a series of several workshops and the courses are accredited as an elective course for general medicine students at the MU Faculty of Medicine. The courses combine practical skills with innovative learning methods. The teaching takes place in the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine.
