Meeting of Scientific Council of MED MUNI
The third meeting of the MU Faculty of Medicine Scientific Council this year took place at the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.
On 23 May 2024, a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine of MU took place in the SIMU building. On this occasion, Dean Martin Repko thanked prof. Petr Dobšák, M.D., CSc., for his long and excellent work as the Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Medicine.
At the meeting, proposals for the extension of the accreditation of the Bachelor's degree programme in Optics and Optometry, the follow-up Master's degree programme in Optometry and the Bachelor's degree programme in Nutritional Therapy were discussed and presented by Vice-Dean Andrea Pokorná. The discussion was attended by the guarantors of the study programmes doc. Mgr. Pavel Beneš, PhD, and Mgr. Ondřej Zvěřina, PhD, and the Head of the Department for Science and Quality Mgr. Jana Sedláková and coordinator Silvie Koutná, were thanked by the Vice-Dean for preparing the materials for the extension of accreditation.
Furthermore, three habilitation procedures were discussed by the Scientific Council:
proposal for the appointment of Vojtěch Peřina, M.D., PhD, Head of the Department of Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Brno, as Associate Professor in Dentistry. The proposal was presented by the Chair of the Habilitation Committee, Prof. MUDr. Lydia Izakovičová Hollá, PhD The candidate presented a lecture to the members of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine of MU on the topic "Medically conditioned osteonecrosis. COVID-19 disease and dentists in the Czech Republic".
proposal for the appointment of Jan Štembírk, M.D. and M.D., PhD, Deputy Head of the Department of Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava and Assistant Professor at the Department of Craniofacial Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava, as Associate Professor in Dentistry. The proposal was presented by the Chair of the Habilitation Committee Prof. MUDr. Lydia Izakovičová Hollá, PhD The candidate presented a lecture on "Linking preclinical and clinical research in the orofacial area" to the members of the MU Faculty of Medicine Scientific Council.
proposal for the appointment of Petr Šín, M.D., PhD, assistant professor at the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Masaryk University and the University Hospital Brno, as associate professor in the field of surgery. The proposal was presented by the Chairman of the Habilitation Committee, Prof. MUDr. Jiří Veselý, CSc. The candidate presented a lecture on "Microvascular reconstruction of defects in the head region" to the members of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine of MU.
