1st Simulation Morning for Znojmo Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation Department
On Friday 14th October, we had the opportunity to welcome for the first time at SIMU the team of one workplace for a high-fidelity course, demanded for the purpose of training both the medical procedures themselves in critical situations in the operating theatre, and especially to improve teamwork and non-technical skills in the workplace.
The first such workplace was the Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation Department of Znojmo Hospital. A total of eleven physicians, including managers, took part in the 1st Simulation Morning lectured by Prof. MUDr. Petr Štourač, Ph.D., MBA, FESAIC and doc. MUDr. Martina Kosinová, Ph.D. We prepared a total of 5 critical situations for doctors, 3 in an adult patient and 2 in a child. During the four and a half hours, we went through the basic principles of Crisis Resource Management and communication skills, which are crucial to manage crisis situations not only in medicine.
The whole morning was inspiring for the participants as well as the lecturers and technicians, and fulfilled not only an educational but also a motivational purpose. We thank everyone who participated fully in the simulations and look forward to seeing you at future courses or other professional forums.
