12th First Aid Simulation Course
Up to 2 months of preparations, 10 student lecturers, 16 helpers, and 30 participant places. Such is the score of the 12th First Aid Simulation Course, an event traditionally organised every semester in the framework of inter-year cooperation courses, which took place on 13 November 2021.
The task of the trained lecturers was to project a simulation on basic life support (the so-called lay first aid) and present it to their schoolmates from all years of studies. The task given to each three-member team of participants was adult resuscitation, anaphylactic reaction, sedative intoxication, open fracture, or the much-feared child resuscitation. The actual solution always continued with a debriefing where the procedure was analysed and all the necessary skills practised.
For the third time, the First Aid Simulation Course was held in the new building of FM MU Simulation Centre, which offers state-of-the-art simulators and exceptional facilities – indeed an ideal basis for a credible and detailed simulation. Together, this results in the best possible learning outcome, emphasising practical training.
