Shadowing activity in Hagenberg

On 12-16 September 2022, the Web Studio of the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses at the Faculty of Medicine of the Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as the Web Studio) took part in a working week in Hagenberg, Austria, at the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (hereinafter referred to as SCCH). During this activity, selected team members and representatives of individual departments of SCCH were introduced and presented their projects and scientific activities through several lectures. The aim of attending all the meetings and workshops was to exchange experience in developing scientific software and to find intersections for collaboration between the Web Studio and SCCH teams.

During the individual meetings, specialised workshops were held, where the key and supporting topics in the design, development, implementation, testing and operation of web-oriented applications were discussed in detail. In addition, actual activities of the project and project teams on the Austrian partner's side were presented; attention was also focused on the interactive discussion between the teams, real demonstrations were performed, and examples of good and bad practices and experiences in the development and testing of web applications were discussed. Thanks to this concept, both teams could be actively involved. The output of this intensive collaboration will be a summary of the most relevant recommendations from the lifecycle of web-based software applications in the field of education.

Last but not least, a project-driven meeting of representatives of both institutions was held to discuss, propose and detail the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the coming years. Compared to this meeting and the whole concept of the SESSAD project, this will undoubtedly be medium- to long-term cooperation, where the main ambition will be to obtain financial, personnel and time support for the systematic development of new projects and continuous sharing of know-how.
