Visitors could come to see the fruits ripening during this period at the Medicinal Herbs Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. In the botanical garden on October 7 and 8, visitors found crops mainly from the assortment, as well as conifers and mushrooms. The crops were presented with information about their possible use by humans, and information about edibility was provided for mushrooms. The crops included pumpkins and their relatives, such as lagenaria, from which containers are made, as well as fruits like medlar, quince, or hawthorn, sweet potato tubers, peanuts, and cereals like sorghum, buckwheat, or quinoa.
Visitors from preschool to senior age took advantage of the opportunity to visit the exhibition, with several classes from nearby kindergartens also in attendance.
We thank the Dubiny Private Botanical Garden for the conifer samples, and the Brno Mycological Club and the Moravian Regional Museum for the mushrooms.
