Popis | Adsorptive transfer stripping (AdTS) technique in combination with electrochemical methods, such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS), was applied for the electrochemical investigation of DNA and RNA oligomers with sequences d(GCGAAGC), r(GCGAAGC) and d(GCGAGC), forming hairpins. On the mercury electrode in buffered aqueous solutions, all the oligomers studied provide reduction signals of adenine and cytosine and an oxidation signal of guanine. The AdTS voltammetry at pH 1.8, 5.8 and 12.8 showed differences between DNA and RNA fragments and confirmed that the shortest and most stable hairpin is formed by the DNA heptamer d(GCGAAGC). |
