MSCA – Postdoctoral Fellowships
The goal of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD, wishing to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility. The scheme supports academic projects but does strongly encourage researchers to include project work in the non-academic sector.
Who can apply?
- MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to excellent researchers of any nationality, including researchers wishing to reintegrate in Europe.
- Applications will be made jointly by the researcher together with a beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sector.
- Applicants must have been awarded their doctoral degree within 8 years prior to the deadline of the call with exception of career breaks.
- Applicants have not resided/studied/worked in the country of their host organization for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the deadline.
Fellowship types:
Postdoctoral Fellowships either can take place in Europe (i.e. in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country) or in a Third Country not associated to Horizon Europe:

- Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: For European nationals or long-term residents - these fellowships require an outgoing phase of minimum 12 and maximum 24 months in a non-associated Third Country, and a mandatory 12-month return phase to a host organisation based in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country.
- Fellowships may be prolonged up to 6 months through a placement in the non-academic sector at the end of the project.

- Living allowance
- Mobility allowance
- Family allowance (if applicable)
